Announcements & Connections 10/4/25

Hi TBC Family & Friends,

Well, it's Saturday! How was your week?  Our 15 year old grandson, Grayson, who is a cancer survivor and has some residual effects from all the chemo had a crippling migraine for TWO weeks and it finally broke yesterday. We are grateful for that!  It got me thinking about heaven....that one day Jesus will wipe away all tears. Heaven will be a place with no clinics, pharmacies, hospitals, and no need for meds! Funeral home directors and cemetery workers will not be needed...kleenex companies will not exist either. Some of our church family are going through tough physical illness and other challenges.  Paul reminds us in 2 Cor 4:17 that our affliction is preparing us for an eternal weight of glory beyond all comparison! Jesus sees our pain and struggles and cares for us as we endure down here. Please be encouraged that one day heaven will outweigh the tough seasons we humans must endure in this broken world.

Pastor Bim, our Pastor Emeritus, has been teaching us on Sunday nights about the sin of narcissism. It's been soooo helpful! There are many authority structures in life, ordained by God such as:  Government -- people, husband -- wife, parent -- children, pastor -- people, employer -- employee, commander -- soldier, teacher -- student and probably others.  What if your authority is flawed, selfish, unwise, unconcerned about your well-being?  Can God use this situation for good?  What should our response to such an authority be?  What if they become dangerous toward us?  What should our response be toward them?  The study of Saul is an inspired account of such a leader.  We live in the real world where we face such trials.  This study can help us know God's will and be pleasing to Him in such difficult situations.  Join us Sunday evening at 6 pm.

Pastor Pat
