Announcements & Connection Opportunities 6/14/15
Hi TBC Family & Friends,
Good Saturday to you, church family and friends! Summer is here and we sure are enjoying it. As I write this, I’m sipping on my Dunkin' frozen coffee (You have got to try it) and enjoying the weather.
I want to remind you of a couple of events coming up in the near future. Next Sunday is anniversary Sunday as we celebrate the 45th anniversary of Truth Baptist Church, and I believe it’s going to be a beautiful day of remembrance and thanksgiving. It is also a special Sunday as we celebrate Pastor Bim and Deanna and their beautiful 45 years here at Truth Baptist Church. As Pastor Bim steps back from being senior pastor here at TBC we want to honor him and bestow upon him the beloved title of Pastor Emeritus. Pastor Bim will be able relax his pace but will still be active in teaching and serving.
One of the things that we’re going to do to honor them is have lunch together after the morning service. If you have not signed up for the meal, would you please do that by clicking on this link if you haven't yet. I am encouraging our folks to give the Rowleys a card of appreciation. Please take the time and share with Pastor Bim and Deanna how much they mean to you and to say thanks for their example in leadership these past 45 years as our pastoral couple. It will mean so much to them!! Please sign up today so that we can be sure to have what we need for lunch next Sunday.
I also want to share some things about our upcoming summit on Sunday, July 20 at 4 PM. In a family meeting a couple of weeks ago I shared what the refocusing process is about but did not go into detail about what to expect. So I want to take a few minutes to describe the summit to you.
On July 20 at 4 PM we will meet in the gym at the church. There will be many many round tables set up to sit together. The summit is not a lecture as much as it is an interactive time of discussion and reflection. Summit 1 looks back over the past 45 years of TBC. Around the table with the help of focus team members who will help facilitate discussion, we will discern together and chat with each other and focus on questions that I will be asking each table to discuss together. The summit is meant to be a time of discerning and conversation between our whole church so that means we want as many of our church family, high school age and above, to participate and be part of the discerning process. It is so important to hear from you whether you are new like Carol and me or have been here many years. We will have a potluck dinner together, and childcare will be available if you need it.
Please plan to participate. It will fun, discerning, reflective, helpful, and vital all in the time we will share together. If you haven't yet, please register for Summit 1 here. I look forward to seeing you there!!
Tomorrow is Father’s Day as we continue in Acts right after 3000 were saved. What was next for the early church? Come join us at 10:30 am. and lets learn together! Remember no Sunday evening service this Sunday.
Lord willing we will see each other Sunday! Bring a friend!
Pastor Pat

Keith Tower and Jesse Christophel are leading this class on practical steps for biblical financial stewardship. Our culture has a bad relationship with money. This 6-8 session series covers basic financial stewardship-everything from creating a spending plan to paying off your debt to planning your investments. God's wisdom will not only help you find solutions for your financial struggles but will transform your heart as you begin to see your finances His way. Everyone is invited to attend... we meet upstairs in the gymnasium.

We will pray from 9:15-9:30 and have some brief fellowship before diving into the Bible and discussions right around 9:30am. Anyone is welcome to join in the Young Adult room in the gym.
