Announcements & Connections 9/13/25
Hi TBC Family & Friends,
It has been a hard month of senseless killing in America. How are you doing as you process these killings? Are your kids asking you questions? Have you on purpose sat down with your teens and older to help them process? I encourage you to and not ignore these killings....your kids aren't ignoring them even if they dont say much. Hatred cannot be fought with hatred! Jesus said WE are the light of the world! JESUS is the answer to the sin-sick humanity that is us! The Gospel is our best and only force that can turn back the tide of hate and murder. Loving our enemies does not mean we agree with them. Matthew 5:44 captures the heart of Jesus..." But I say unto you love your enemies, bless them who curse you, do good to those who hate you, and pray for those who spitefully use you and persecute you."
In light of this month of murder our series on "Jesus said Whaaaat? " and His upside down kingdom teaching really becomes relevant for us as Followers of Christ as we study His teachings on how to flourish. Join us Sunday at 10:30 am as we continue.
Hey friends, you still can register for Summit 2 which is tomorrow, Sunday, at 4pm with dinner together at 7 pm. Sign up today! Your input is greatly desired as we discern and pray together as we seek where God is calling us to share the Gospel. Please join us!
Pastor Pat
ANNOUNCEMENTS:
1. NEW ATTENDERS / NEW MEMBERS CLASS: If you are newer to our church and would like to learn about the basic doctrines we preach and teach at TBC, we invite you to join Pastor Rowley's new membership class starting this Sunday at 9:15am downstairs in the Junior Church classroom. Even if you're not sure if you want to be a member, this class is for you. It's a great time of discussion and learning what the Bible teaches about various topics.
2. BAPTISM: Please plan to join us in the gymnasium right after the morning service for a special baptism service.
3. TBC SUMMIT 2: In Summit 2, this Sunday evening September 14th, we will look at community and regional demographics in order for the church to identify our mission field around us. Summit participants will also determine the kind of values the church needs to embrace in order to reach our local mission field. This will lead into a time of listening to the Lord in the process of discovering God’s vision for Truth Baptist Church. Please sign up here if you can attend! The summit will be from 4-7pm, and we will have a church fellowship for those who can stay at 7pm. We are asking each family to bring a large potluck item large enough to share with your family and a few others... either main dish, salad, or dessert.
4. MEN'S EAST HARTFORD POLICE DEPARTMENT TOUR: All men and boys ages 12 and up are invited to join us on Saturday, September 20th, as we head over to the East Hartford Police Department for a behind-the-scenes tour. This is an exciting opportunity to connect with some of the officers who serve the community around our church and explore how we can be more present and engaged in the neighborhoods around us. See details and sign up using this link.
5. RAISED IN GLORY WORSHIP DANCE FOR GIRLS: All girls ages 5-18 are invited to join us for our 2025 Fall season of Raised in Glory worship dance. Raised in Glory is a discipleship group for girls where we use dance to bring girls together in worship, and we use God’s Word to get to know Jesus. We will be meeting on Fridays at TBC from 4:30-5:30pm beginning September 26th through November 15th. Our performance will be Saturday, November 15th at 11am at TBC. The cost is $15/girl, and they should sign up here at this link. ALSO, we are inviting any women 19 and older to join us from 4:30-5:30pm to have their own beginner class. They should sign up as well using the link and will still need to pay the $15. They will not be performing at the end of the semester. :)
6. TBC WOMEN'S MINISTRY RETREAT: All ladies and teen girls are invited to attend our fall Women’s Ministry Retreat day on Saturday, September 27th, from 9:00am to 3:30pm. Please RSVP using this link. 7. MEN'S & WOMEN'S MINISTRY & FELLOWSHIP: The men and the women (including teens age 12 and up) will meet separately for a time of encouragement and community on Sunday evening, September 28th, at 6pm.
