Hello TBC Family & Friends,
We trust Pat and Carol Hand are having a great cruise celebrating their 50th wedding anniversary which happened last year but they did not have time to celebrate. I trust they won't get sea sick!
Tomorrow, I will be picking back up where I left off on the Colossians series. We will be looking at a practical passage (Col 3:12-14) that tells us what a model Christian should look like. If we put into practice the great truths taught in Colossians 1 & 2, our lives should begin to look like the model Christian we see in these verses. We are to "put off" old traits and "put on" these Christlike traits.
Sunday evening we will be looking at the next event on God's prophetic calendar. I have been studying 4 key passages in 1st and 2nd Thessalonians dealing with the Rapture of the Church and the coming Day of the Lord. We will start with the first exciting passage in 1Th 4:13-18. It is amazing to me how much Paul emphasized prophecy to this church in the few weeks (maybe a couple months) he was with them. God must think that prophecy is important. It reminds us in this chaotic world that God is still in control and has a purpose for allowing things to happen that are going on in the world today. Please come, ready to think and be encouraged. Also Daniel is going to help us sing a couple old choruses about heaven that are a great encouragement to me.

ANNOUNCEMENTS:
1. MEN'S HIKE: Craving fresh air and good company with some other men and teen boys? Join us for a mini spring adventure at Northwest Park (145 Lang Rd, Windsor, CT) on Saturday, May 10th, where every hiker—from casual strollers to trail warriors—will find their perfect path! 2. LADIES' TASTE OF FELLOWSHIP: All ladies are invited to the next Taste of Fellowship on Monday night, May 12th at 6pm at Tunxis Grill in Windsor. If you can come, please text Melanie or reply to this email so we can hold a seat for you. This is a time of low key community where you can bring a friend. Everyone pays for their own meal.
3. TBC 45th ANNIVERSARY CELEBRATION: Everyone is invited to attend and to spread the word to those you know from the past who may want to attend our 45th Anniversary Celebration on Sunday, June 22nd. We will also be celebrating the many years of Pastor Rowley & Deanna's faithful leadership and service and his new season as Pastor Emeritus at TBC. We are asking EVERYONE (even regular attenders) to RSVP at this link so we can know how to plan for the day. We will have our celebration service at 10:30am and a catered lunch to follow.
4. INVITATION TO HARPER WEDDINGS (Please RSVP): Everyone is invited to Daniel and Anneliese's wedding and church reception on May 31st, but due to limited space, we do need everyone coming to RSVP by May 12th. Everyone is also invited to Jenna and Ethan's wedding and reception on August 15th, and again due to limited space, we need everyone to RSVP by May 20th. Thank you for understanding!

Sunday, 9:15am - Ladies' Bible Study and Prayer
Join us as we dive into the book of James, Christianity 101, if you will! Full of practical, straight to the point instruction, we will learn how to better be “doers of the Word, and not hearers only” (James 1:22), by uncompromisingly putting our faith into action! They meet in a classroom in the gymnasium. All ladies are welcome.
Sunday, 9:15am – Faith Foundations
Eli & Madeline, Keith and Wendy, and Jesse and Kim are heading up this series. This Faith Foundations series will be 10 weeks long and will look at 10 essential Christian truths. This class meets upstairs in the gym, and anyone is invited!
Sunday, 9:15am - The Book of 1st Peter (In Person & Zoom)
This class is studying the book of 1st Peter. We are seeing that Almighty God has called us out of an idolatrous, demonic world to be His ETERNAL ambassadors of light for Him in time. We are also seeing our ETERNAL position in Christ, contrary to that of a subjective, demonic position of darkness. We will pray from 9:15-9:30 and have some brief fellowship before diving into the Bible and discussions right around 9:30am. Anyone is welcome to join in the Young Adult room in the gym.
Sunday, 9:15am - Membership Class (Zoom By Request)
Pastor Rowley is teaching a rotating class focusing on what we believe and why we believe it. This class has time for Q&A each week and meets in the Junior Church classroom below the auditorium. Anyone is invited to join at any time.
