September 19th Update

Dear TBC Family & Friends,

In about 1100 AD a theologian defined God as a being than which nothing greater can be imagined.  About 4 years ago I preached a series of messages based on that concept which I titled the “Greatest Conceivable Being.”  In order to lay the foundation for the next couple of messages, we are going to take another look at that definition of God tomorrow morning.  It is truly mind-stretching and mind-improving to think about the greatness and perfection of God.  Please come or join in tomorrow as there are a number of very important personal applications for all of us that spring from this topic.

This morning we had a men’s bagel and donut meeting in which we discussed the central theme of the book of Ecclesiastes.  It is a book in which the main point is purposely not stated in order to provoke thought.  We will consider the main thoughts of the morning message and then as time permits touch on the main idea of Ecclesiastes.

If you have not yet joined into a life group, you are missing a great opportunity to connect with other believers in a more personal way that really aids in spiritual growth.

1.  Pastor Rowley’s Scripture Memory class will be meeting at 9:00 am in the classroom next to the young adult room.

2.  Aaron & Stephanie Coffey and their evangelistic team will be at our church Sunday, October 11th, through Wednesday, October 14th.  Please put these dates on your calendar so you can be blessed and refreshed by their ministry with us during that time.

3.  As a general reminder, please don’t come to church in person if you or anyone in your household have any flu-like symptoms or Covid-19 symptoms.  Please continue to pray for God to protect our church from this virus as He has already done this far.

4.  We are thankful that God has given us a full roster of players for our Truth Soccer League!  Please pray for the coaches and families involved and for God to help us reach our community with the Gospel!

Many people are familiar with Psalm 23. But because we all know it, we often breeze through the Psalm without slowing down long enough to rest in the assurance it offers. In this 6-part series on Psalm 23, pastor Matt Chandler introduces us to the Great Shepherd, the Lord, who promises to provide for every need of his flock. Though only six verses long, this Psalm teaches us profound truths about our loving and protective God. By studying Psalm 23, we’ll encounter a life-transforming question: Do you trust the Lord to care for your needs?  Anyone is invited to join.
