March 19th Announcements and Connection Links

Dear TBC Family and Friends,

I hope everyone enjoyed the warm day on Friday! Everyone has been telling me, Friday was just a taste, a temptation really, of the warm weather to come. We take those days and enjoy them knowing they will disappear. Not sure how I feel about the temptation of warm weather. Connecticut feels a little lukewarm to me! Doesn’t know if it wants to be hot or cold! :). Still love being here though.

Tomorrow we will begin a series on discipleship, something that I have always been passionate about as a Christian and a pastor. But before we can begin to talk about the discipleship process, we have to talk about what it means to be a disciple of Christ first. Please join us tomorrow to hear God’s Word on this matter.

If you are able, please come back Sunday Evening as I will continue thoughts on Romans 14 by using 1 Corinthians 8. I hope that it will produce good questions that Pastor Rowley and myself will be able to talk about on April 3rd. If you have questions related to Romans 14, 1 Corinthians 8, or other related passages, or application of said passages, please send in your questions for the Q&A! It will hopefully be a good time of discussion and clarity.

Looking forward to worshipping with you all tomorrow!

In Christ,

Pastor John

1.  GIVING TO UKRAINIAN REFUGEES:  If you would like to give to believers in need who have had to leave Ukraine or are still in Ukraine with needs, please give funds through TBC designated “Ukrainian Missions.”  We will give this money to a fund given 100% to Ukrainian believers in need and those they are ministering to.  Micah Tuttle, our missionary to Georgia, will be dispersing the funds through the connections he has with his dad, Bruce Tuttle, a missionary in Ukraine who has not left Ukraine.  We will also be giving a portion of these funds to our Ukrainian missionary Vitally Keller to disperse as needed.

2.  TEEN AFTERGLOW:  All teens are invited to the Teen Afterglow from 7:15PM-8:45PM this Sunday night, March 20th, after the evening service.  This afterglow will be hosted by the Pepe’s in the TBC gym. Colossians: What we think about Jesus matters. Our perception of Him shapes us—what we say, how we treat others, even what we think. If we paint Jesus as any less than who He is as supreme over all creation and savior of the world, not only does our theology slip, but the working out of our faith also suffers. In this 8-session series, Louie Giglio will take us through the book of Colossians to help us form a complete picture of Jesus. What we believe about Him influences everything from our corporate worship to our relationships to our attitude toward sin. Now alive in Christ, we can live a life worthy of God instead of falling back into the ways of the world.  Anyone is invited to join.
