March 13th Announcements & Updates
Dear TBC Family & Friends,
On Sunday morning we will be observing communion during a message entitled “God’s Justice Satisfied.” The Lord’s Supper is a good opportunity to meditate on God’s grace to us. Last week we looked at the question: “What is Justice?” That is a large topic that has many applications in real life. Last week we painted what justice or judgment is in broad strokes. This week we will see how a God who says that all His ways are justice can look with favor on those who are not perfect or just. A God who is impartial, who cannot justify the wicked found a way at great personal cost to both remain just and to justify the guilty.
On Sunday evening I want to encourage everyone to join the interactive Zoom meeting. First, if you have any input about the subject of God’s justice that could edify the believers, we will start with that discussion. Second, we had a lively discussion on Saturday morning about Bible interpretation. I think it would be helpful to relate some of the main points of how to properly interpret the Bible and discuss those. This is such an important issue in this day.
Also, I rejoice to hear that Amy Hanover did not in fact have Covid and did not have to quarantine away from her family. Sunday evening was such a blessing to me to see the entire church metaphorically surround Rob with their love. That was a beautiful picture of a good church weeping with those who weep and communicating the love of Jesus Christ to a family that was hurting. My heart was probably as blessed as Rob’s.
1. COMMUNION: We are having Communion this Sunday morning during the worship service.
2. DAYLIGHT SAVINGS: Tonight is Daylight Savings Time, so please remember to set your clocks forward.
3. GOOD FRIDAY SERVICE: Our Good Friday service, a night of musical meditations, will be held at 6:30pm on Friday, April 2nd. The service will be held in person and via livestream.
4. TRUTH BASKETBALL: We are looking at the first Saturday in April as the tentative start to Truth Basketball League. Stay tuned for more details, and be in prayer that the health situation would allow us to still hold our league and that we would be able to reach people this season.
5. As a general reminder, please don’t come to church in person if you or anyone in your household have any flu-like symptoms or Covid-19 symptoms. Please continue to pray for God to protect our church from this virus.
