July 9th Announcements and Connections LInks

Dear TBC Family and Friends,

I hope everyone has had a great week. It’s been quite hot and perhaps the grass is greener, but I can’t wait for the winter to come back! But what I am more looking forward to is VBS next week. Please be in prayer for the whole week: for the teachers and volunteers, kids, and parents. Pray that the gospel will be able to reach hearts and that God by His grace would save people.

Tomorrow we will be continuing our study in Hebrews. The theme of Jesus being better than the angels will still be in our passage tomorrow.  However, the focus will shift to Jesus’ humanity and how Jesus being human further displays the great salvation all Christians have in Christ. I trust and pray that tomorrow’s passage will be an encouragement to us all as we hear about Jesus’ humanity and what it means for all of us.

Please also come back Sunday evening. We will have a short time when our treasurer, Scott Powell, will present the budget. Afterward, we will be decorating the auditorium for VBS which begins Monday! If you have not yet invited families you know with kids, it’s not too late to do so!

Looking forward to worshipping with you all tomorrow.

In Christ,

Pastor John

If someone asked you to explain the gospel, what would you say? What is the good news of the Christian faith? Writing to the Galatians, Paul made it clear how easily we can be tempted to turn toward fraudulent gospels, especially those that teach we can earn God’s love through our works. Though they may have the appearance of truth, they are lifeless and leave us empty in the end.  In this Book of the Bible series, Kyle Idleman dives into the book of Galatians, one that contains some of the clearest explanations of the gospel in the New Testament. Through biblical study and engaging lessons, Kyle shows that true freedom is found in surrender, not self-dependence. Because our gospel is not one based on our works, but faith in the finished work of Jesus Christ.  Anyone is invited to join.
